Amy Berkhout is an experienced family nurse practitioner and co-owner of Divine IV and Wellness. In addition to Divine IV and Wellness, Amy and her husband, Joost, also own and operate East Valley Joint Clinic (EVJC) since its founding in 2016. Amy met Joost while studying for her bachelor's degree at Northern Arizona University (NAU) where Joost was a foreign exchange student from the Netherlands. Amy and Joost have two children, Oliver and Hannah. In their free time, they enjoy camping, playing board games, and being outdoors when possible in Arizona.
Two years after achieving a bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Amy realized she was being called to become a nurse. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2004 and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from NAU in 2013. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate at NAU.
After working in other clinics, Amy decided that it was time to open her own clinic to share and educate patients about health and wellness. Thus, Divine IV and Wellness was opened in the spring of 2018. In owning her own practice, Amy has found that she is able to spend more time with each patient and can incorporate various modalities of treatments that are more holistic and preventive, going back to her roots of health promotion and disease prevention. She is specially trained in multiple areas, including nutritional IV therapies, hormone replacement therapy, thyroid optimization, joint injections, trigger point injections, and platelet-rich plasma therapy.
If you are a woman of a certain age and have dealt with your regular ob/gyn or someone who has prescribed you testosterone creams or those weird troche things and had no effect, DO NOT give up. Go see Amy! Have concerns and hesitancies about testosterone pellets? GET OVER IT! That’s where I was and Amy convinced me to give it a try. Only thing that’s made a difference. She’s funny. She’s kind. She’s irreverent. She gets it. Do not wait, call her immediately.

Amy and Ann are AMAZING! I seriously will be going no other place for my hormone replacement and other treatments. I had been back and forth with my PCP who had continued to say that my blood work was normal and I just needed to go see a therapist. I knew that wasn’t it. My energy was low, my head was in a fog, I had no sex drive, and I couldn’t remember anything. I also plateaued with my weight loss after pregnancy. I honestly do not know where I'd be if I hadn't found Amy. For over 10yrs I begged doctors to help me find out why I was always in pain. They would just look at me and tell me to lose weight. No test, no xrays. Just bloodwork to see if I was diabetic. I wasn't, and I'm still not. Amy got xrays and MRI's done and found exactly what was wrong. She is so thorough and listens to everything I told her that she was able to find answers to other issues that I was having. I am so thankful to her and recommend her to anyone needing answers and not getting them from their primaries.
